Takin' Dolly for a Walk

After many days of being sick and still battling it, I decided what
a better way to pep things up an a rainy Sunday then
a new toy. So I headed to the basement and brought
up Alexa's Easter gift from cousin Ayla. At first she had to inspect all the new gadgets.
Then, she was off!

Taking her dolly for a walk all by herself!

Climbing the Stairs

Friday, September 25, 2009
Alexa was bound and determined to crawl away from me in
the living room, up the step, thru the foyer, and to the stairs.
She climbed the stairs a few weeks ago with Daddy
and now tries to do it on a daily basis. The little stinker just climbed right up...again.

Then, she had the nerve to turn around and face me.
As if she knew I was taking pictures. Turning around and sitting
down was a first. All the while I was trying to get a picture, I
had my hands out waiting for the fall...
but the little devil was as steady as can be!

She just kept going and going...

Although she looks fine, yesterday, Thursday, Septeber 24, 2009 we
went back to the doctors. This time her weight was up...20 lbs., 12 oz,
but this time she has a sinus infection and ear infection.
The only good part, is now we were given medicine!

The Climb

After taking pictures of Alexa climbing the first half of the stairs,

I decided to video the second half. She must have started to get

a bit tired because it took her a lot longer to climb here on

the video than it did the first half of the stairs.

Oh So Serious

"Mommy, I am going to walk if I want to - you can't stop me".

Peek

Alexa just loves playing "peek-a-boo" with us through her play wall.

"No No Alexa".

Oh, the firsplace...Alexa's newest favorite place to go to.
As one can imagine, we are saying "No No" rather often to Alexa.
The result, she turns around, looks at us, smiles,
then laughs at us. I have to admit, it is very hard NOT to laugh back.

The Irish Baby

While visiting the fam in Michigan, Dad hit the Irish Festival
with Aunt Patty and Uncle Ronnie.
Upon returning home from work, I find Alexa in one of
her new onesies from Papa.
Enough said!

Beep Beep.

"But I want to talk and drive mommy!"
Speedy driver!

Alexa has picked up this whole driving thing rather fast!
She will even pull things off the table now!

"Catch me if you can!"

What a Cutie

On September 18, 2009 Alexa weighed 20 lbs., 10 oz.
Just a few short days later, she returned to the doctor
with a very bad cough, runny nose, and no appetite. On Monday,
September 21, 2009 she was down to 20 lbs, 4 oz.
We were told it was a viral infection and to use Tylenol or Motrin
as needed and to return if she didn't get any better in a few days.
Although I had just finished giving her some medicine,
Alexa felt the need to lick every last drop!

Monkey see...monkey do!

Time To Wake Up!

On this morning, it was very, very hard to wake Alexa up.
Lights on and all, she just kept snozzin' away.

First Trip to the Zoo

Saturday, September 12, 2009
Our First Trip to the Zoo
First stop - the elephants.
Alexa tried very hard to reach for the ponies. They stopped
eating to look up and stare back at all the noise Alexa was
making but stayed an arms length away! They were smart!
Our Little Penguin.

Mommy and Alexa with a very friendly tiger.

Despite the rain once we entered the zoo, we made the best of it.
A few times we had to take shelter as it came down harder.
This was one spot near the leopard. As you can see,
Alexa did not mind getting wet!
Always a good time horsing around with daddy!

Lunch @ Colemans

After the zoo, we headed to Coleman's on Tipp Hill.
Our Littl' Leprachaun

And one last stop - the lil' telephone booth
before heading home for our nap!

What a fun family day we had together!

Rob has been telling me for quite some time now to pick up a
walker the next time I am out shopping. I however was just not
ready for Alexa to start walking so I kept putting it off. I finally
caved. Let's just say, Rob was right! She probably could have
gotton some serious miles in her jeep weeks ago. We put her in
her "SUV" and before our eyes was became "Miss Mario Andretti". She took off.
As you can see by the look on her face, she kept herself
rather entertained for quite some time!

"Are We There Yet?"

A much over-due family vacation to Cape May, NJ
September 2009
After driving 2/3's of the way, we stopped near Philly
for the night! Alexa did great in the car and
as soon as we entered the lobby,
she started playing with her phone...
...probably because she saw cousin Ayla talking on the phone!

Let the vacation begin!

This Isn't the Ocean!

Although we weren't to Cape May yet, the girls were glad to be out of the car and free to roam about. Alexa was quick to find the closet with mirrors. This entertained her while I was able to set up the pack and play and get the "pull-out" set up for Ayla. Once Alexa figured out I was busy in the other room,
she came to investigate. This turned into a game of "you can't
catch me if I crawl all the way under Ayla's bed". She was right!
The next morning we were all anxious to get back on the road to
get to our final destination...the ocean!
But first we had books to read!

Let the Fun Begin!

Finally we arrive! Alexa and Ayla were full of excitment

and could not wait to release some bottled up energy! A little

jumping and we were off to the ocean -

(which was literally a stones throw away from our balcony!)

Twins???

Each morning the girls were dressed alike for breakfast.
"No more pictures mommy".
Boy was Alexa in for a shock if she thought I
was putting the camera away for this trip!

Two peas in a pod!

It was such a tease for both girls with the kiddie pool
right below our room and the ocean not far behind.

Let's just say these two girls had plenty of
hours in the sand and waters on this trip!

First Moments @ The Beach

With everyone anxious to play in the sand and swim in the ocean,
we quickly changed clothes backed the diaper bag,
loaded the beach bag with towels and sand toys,
and ventured out to the sandy water! On the walk from
our room to the beach, literally steps, Alexa fell asleep.
Below is her very first moment on sand and at the ocean...asleep! Upon waking up, she tested out the feel
of the sand with daddy close by!

And then cousin Ayla showed her how to bury her piggies!

Enjoying the fresh air!

It wasn't long before sand was everywhere!

Sand Baby

It wasn't long before Alexa was knee deep in the sand.
Regardless how hard we tried, we couldn't quite get Alexa
to grasp the concept of the shovel is for digging and
building...not for chewing! At this point, I realized there was
no possible way I was going to be able to keep the sand out of Alexa's mouth.
At least it makes for a cute picture!

Where's the sandcastle one may ask???
It was crushed just about as fast as we made it!

Gotta Love This Life

Once she got used to it, Alexa loved the feel of the sand!
Once she realized there were shells and
rocks to be found...we were on high alert because
everything went into her mouth!.
She just kept digging and digging and was
amazed at herself with all that she found!

We couldn't have asked for a happier baby!
