"Where's Ayla?"

We kept telling Ayla that we were going to bury her in the sand so sure enough while Alexa took a cat-nap in her stroller, we set off to work! Ayla didn't stay to still for long so it was work quick and
get the picture fast before she broke free!

Baby powder = easy removal of sand!
This trick really does work and was a life savor for both kiddos!!
It worked wonders on cleaning Alexa's face and hands quick!

Chair Climber

While Rob took Ayla into the ocean to jump the waves, I stayed with Alexa. I turned my back for a second, and much to my surprise,
I turn back around to see Alexa who was playing with the sand toys,
climbing my beach chair!
While I grabbed the camera, Alexa turned around
and made herself right at home!

"Look at me mommy!"

Chattin' with Daddy

Best Buds

As Rob and I were getting ready for dinner, Ayla and Alexa
had a nice conversation together!
Now that Alexa can say "LaLa" - (for Ayla),
Ayla is in her glory! Ayla was determined to give Alexa her first piggy back ride...
that's when mommy stepped in!
Even though both girls were ready, dresed and hair done,
Alexa decided to make more work for mommy and pull Ayla's ponies out.

"Well, if I can't get a piggy back ride,
then I will climb over cousin Ayla."

Sure enough, she did!

Ayla was such a good sport and a great help this entire trip!

Rob, Alexa, & Ayla

Rob, Alexa, and Ayla.

The Kiddie Pool

Alexa thoroughly enjoyed the kiddie pool at our hotel.
As you can see here, she is standing up completely in
the pool. It was perfect for Alexa! Swinging in the pool!

Ayla took a break from swimming in the deep end to come swim
with Alexa. As always, Alexa was beaming when
she saw Cousin Ayla coming!

Kisses for cousin!

If only we could have frozen time and stayed in Cape May
on vacation...that would be the life!

Our Beach Baby

Alexa loved every part of the ocean - from the sand,
to the water, even the shells! She loved watching the water get closer, and closer, and closer
to her feet...and when it reached her piggies,
she laughed and screamed with excitement!
Our ocean baby.

Mommy's little angel!

Alexa was so good on our trip! Guess we will have to
start taking more vacations! Yippee!

Sunrise on the Cape

Alexa decided to wake up very early this morning.
So while mommy and cousin Ayla continued to sleep,
daddy took Alexa for a stroll down the beach for the beautiful sunrise!

Alexa enjoyed the morning stroll just as much as daddy.
Rob said she had a blast watching the waves come crashin into shore!

Another Matching Outfit

Yup, another matching outfit!
"Let's skip breakfast and head straight to the pool".

The Kiddie Pool

Rob & Alexa in the kiddie pool splashing away.
How much happier can a child be?

I am not sure if Alexa's legs got more of a workout from jumping or...

her arms from splashing.

A fun time had by all!

The Noodle

Ayla took a break from swimming in the deep
end to play with the noodle with Rob.Then the water war began!

After that, Alexa took a break with mommy,
while Ayla and Rob swam in the deep end!

Walking the Side of the Kiddie Pool

Of course the water had a lot to do with it, but Alexa
wanted nothing to do with us hanging onto her while
she could hang onto the side herself. Even walk the side.

Lowering of the Flag

While watching the sunset, there was a
"Lowering of the Flag" ceremony. For Rob and I,
it is very important to turn any experience into something
that is meaningful where kids can learn
and be exposed to new things. Ayla was mesmerized as she watched
the two girls lower the flag and asked
many questions about the event. This was a wonderful learning
experience for Ayla. She really got a lot out of it!

Alexa on the other hand, well let's just say, this was not
quite the learning experience that it was for Ayla.

Nope, Alexa slept thru the whole ceremony.
Guess we can't check this off the list for
a learning experience for Alexa.
Maybe next year.

I guess we were somewhat successful - 1 out of 2
children benefited from this experience!

Sunset at Cape May

The ultimate goal was to get the girls picture together
during the sunset. But, Alexa was still sleeping.
Ayla settled for a picture alone! She was such a
good sport for all my pictures!
