Our Little Climber

Alexa was playing so peacefully...when all of the sudden
she saw her bottle in the cup holder of the chair.
Next thing I know, she is climbed her drums...
grabbed her bottle and took a drink.

Then she realized that she could move her feet and play the music.
Although, I was nervous and awaiting the fall...
this was rather amusing!

I decided to fore-go the fall and
brought Alexa down to safety.

Remember when...

There was a day when Alexa would lay on her back
and play with her 5-in-1 Gym. Now, it is all about standing!

Swimmin' w/ Uncle B

It is so much fun watching Alexa in the pool.
At this rate, she will be swimming on her own next summer!
She is one happy fish!

One HOT Day

This past weekend was rather hot, so we spent a
lot of time cooling off in the pool.
Alexa just loves it when Rob turns on the deck jets.

She will do anything to play in the shooting water!

Next summer should be a blast at the water parks!

Playing with the "Deck Jets"

It took Rob only once to show Alexa
how to play in the "deck jets". And she's off.
Laughing and giggling all the way!

"Watch this, I am goingto get the camera wet!"

She could have splashed in that for hours!

Stairs

Alexa escaped from getting her jammies on and dashed
down the hall. Next thing I know, she is climbing the rails.
Alexa had fun talking to daddy.

She then proceeded to walk the whole
length of the banister.

Cousins

The kiddos always enjoy time in the pool together.
Ayla and Alexa would stay in the water all day, if we let them!
Splashing in the jets with Luke.

Banana

Our attempt at our first "real" banana.
Alexa surprisingly inspected it very
carefully before diving right in.
Then, she was off.

I then cut very, very small pieces for her.
This was rather unsuccessful.
They would more stick to her tongue...she had
a hard time getting them from her tongue to her gums,
so she resorted to gagging.

This ended the banana for now.

Alexa's Pillow

One morning last week, Alexa woke up early.
I was exhausted so I layed her in bed with me.
That didn't last long.
She immediately crawled over to Kruzer.
So I put the TV on and tuned into a kids show.
Alexa grabbed her plug and made herself comfy all by herself.
She then proceeded to watch a little TV.

When she turned back to make sure I was still watching her,
she looked up and realized she could watch tv through the
mirror in our headboard.

Ernie got her attention and she turned back.
(Mind you, before this day, Alexa has only watched
"Baby Einstein" DVDS...and not for more
than a few seconds at a time).

And then she made herself really comfortable.

Kruzer was such a good sport during all this!

"I'd Rather Be Standing"

These days, remaining still just isn't an option anymore.
Alexa would rather be crawling or better yet
climbing anything and everything!

Another Trip to Fairhaven

Sat., August 8, 2009
Ayla & Alexa.
Alexa had a blast watching Ayla swing
on Muff's hammock!
A pose for mommy.

The big girls, Katy, Ayla, and Molly took several rides
on the paddleboat! Some were joy rides, others were
Katy towing Molly & Ayla in the tube, while others
consisted of rescuing the run-away fender!

Another good day had by all!
Thanks girls for another terrific play-date!

Sippy Cup

Last week, we gave Alexa her first "sippy cup".
Upon handing it to her, she figured out exactly how
to hold the handles, tip, and drink!

My baby is growing up far to fast!

Travel System

I am very sad to say the days of our travel system are
becoming short lived. I am not sure how much longer we will be
using this. Alexa is getting too big too quickly! I am going
to try and stretch it as long as I can though! I am not ready for
her to be in the BIG car seat just yet.

Play-date

After many attempts, we finally were able to schedule
a play-date with Nicholas and Baby William.
Nicholas and Alexa enjoyed the Ball Pit.
Big boy Nicholas was even able to make some hoops!

Then they moved onto the Learning Mailbox.
Nicholas delivered mail to his mommy and I while
Alexa grabbed for her own mail. Nicholas was a great
teacher to Alexa on where to put the mail.

Baby William relaxed in the swing.
Happy as always!

Alexa and Godmother Kristie.

Thanks for a great play-date!

Bubble Gum Ball Pit

Knowing how much Alexa likes playing with balls,
I decided to scoop out the ball pits.
And the winner is, the musical Bubble Gum Ball Pit.

She loves it!
She crawls in head first, and then tries to stand and step out.
The getting out part doesn't work so well.

Where did Daddy Go?

Alexa loves watching what is going on around her.
She doesn't miss a beat! Notice her facial expression when Rob goes under water!

A quick look at me for a pic.

One Hot Day

After a hot day, Rob decided to cool off in the pool.
Believe me, you never have to ask Alexa twice
when it comes to water!
She could last for hours in here if we allowed it!

Notice the tongue sticking out...like father, like daughter!

Our little fish.

Splashing away.

"Don't mind that water in your eyes daddy."

When is Daddy Coming Home?

Now that Alexa can climb the step, she quickly crawled
over to the front door to take a look out.
She then began banging on the door so loudly
that Kruzer thought someone was here. While waiting at the door for daddy to return from work,
Alexa decided to take a break and check out the air
conditioning duct...something she is NOT
supposed to be playing with!
At last, daddy is home...hmm - what gave it away?

Alexa hasn't quite figured it out yet that even though you
can see the driveway from the front door and we have a
walkway, that we never use it to enter the house.

Stair Climber

Last week, Alexa decided to show us her latest trick...
climbing up the step in our living room.
(For those of you who don't know,
we have a drop down living room).
I think she is trying to tell us that she is one up
on us since we don't have baby gates yet!
